Security center warns antivirus software might not be installed.

Is there a way to correct this besides disabling the warning?

I have the paid version of 1.39 on 2 computers with vista sp2.

One has a fresh install of vista so no viruses are on it.

MBAM is not an antivirus. It is meant to run along side your antivirus software. There are a couple great free Antivirus programs that run nicely with MBAM.

Free AV: Avira or Avast

Paid AV: NOD32 or Kaspersky

I think those are your best choices IMO.

I would definetly download an AV ASAP. Here is Avira's free download link http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Per...4-10322935.html

Hope this helps ;)

The paid version does offer real time protection

read this http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can detect and remove malware that even the most well known anti-virus and anti-malware applications fail to detect

If you still have questions, One of the moderators or experts can help explain better

It is always good to have a layered protection (Antivirus + Antimalware)

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will protect you against malware that anti-virus software has trouble detecting, but we do not cover the areas that anti-virus software already covers well. This allows us to focus more time on the hardest to kill malware, as we waste less time on things that everyone else already detects and removes. This means that to be properly protected, you also need to have a good anti-virus, like AntiVir (which is what we usually recommend). There are other good anti-virus softwares out there, like prairie dog mentioned, so you have plenty of choice in what you use with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

I'll add to this that management are looking into how Malwarebytes gets added to this feature in WSC with MS. Just not real sure when or if, for that matter, it will actually happen.

I thought the paid version offered real time protection.

If not then I do not understand why any one would get the paid version.

Someone please explain.

I like the program but am confused about its role.

You did get an email after purchase. with an order number & an ID key -- correct?

and you did put that ID key in the Malwarebytes program under the Protection tab.

which enables real time protection. I ask, because 4 users sent me a PM on where

to install the key? let us know please.. if you did it then disregard this please.

Yes I have entered the key and all is well.

With only Avira and Malwarebytes install my systems they now us around

200MB less memory. They also boot faster and are more responsive.

I uninstalled AVG and disabled Windows Defender.
