After I downloaded the new fix for MBAM it seemed to take care of the problem on my HP Pavilion for a couple of days. Now its back. I have disabled this from starting through the services.msc. Sems to help some but not perfect. What is the solution here if there is one? My active processes are running in the 60's range.

Hello and welcome....

Let's try this first to make sure you have a clean re-install of MB3.... (It is recommended that you de-activate your Malwarebytes first before un-installing or using the clean removal tool - the tool can only backup the license info for MB3 so if you have MBAM v1 or v2 you have to de-activate it manually)

  1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (NOTE: After uninstalling with the mb-claen tool you will be asked to reboot.  Once you reboot it will ask you if you want to re-install Malwarebytes, you can select YES or you can download the latest version (currently v3.0.6 CU4.1) to re-install from HERE)
  2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 4 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 4 logs are: mbam logs zipped, FRST.txt, Addition.txt and mb-checkResult.txt)
  3. NOTE: More info about the latest Malwarebytes 3.0.6 CU4.1 HERE; MB 3 User Guide ONLINE; MB 3 User Guide PDF; MB 3 FAQ: Malwarebytes 3.0 - Frequently Asked Questions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank You,

Firefox

What files and how do I get them?

If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 4 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 4 logs are: mbam logs zipped, FRST.txt, Addition.txt and mb-checkResult.txt)

Start with step 6 in the topic under Diagnostic Logs

Thanks for the logs, now lets wait for @dcollins or @AdvancedSetup to stop by and review them to see if they can tell what may be happening in your case.

In the meantime you can try to add exclusions to your antivirus software to see if it helps (to make sure they are not conflicting with each other).

I would like you to add these files to your Anti-Virus exclusions list

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\assistant.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MbamPt.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMService.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbamtray.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMWsc.exe
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbae64.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\MBAMChameleon.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\MBAMSwissArmy.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mwac.sys
  • C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\farflt.sys

Sorry to say, no. I did an uninstall with your uninstaller and rebooted, did a re-install but first deactivated Webroot. After installed, re-activated Webroot but still no fifference, So right now I have 2 apps open and my browser (Comodo Ice Dragon), firefox based. My cpu is running in the 50-60 % range. Should not be doing that. Any other suggestions?

Are you saying you have 60 active processes, or that your processes are using 60% of your CPU? We are aware of some high CPU/RAM consumption cases in regards to MB3 and are working to resolve them, unfortunately there is no easy workaround at this time.

Very strange. Why is it that on 3/17 when I subscribed to MBW and did the install, did not have any issue with it until April. That doesn't make any sense to me. Nothing was added to this computer. Prior to this I was using the free version of MWB and there was no problem with that.
