Scan Cancels After Starting

I have been running Malwarebytes 3.0 Premium and recently have run into an issue where the scan functionality keeps on cancelling after a second of starting.  I have tried an uninstall and reinstall and it has not fixed the issue.  Tried a clean install and it doesn't work.  I have a scan log attached.  I keep on getting a notification that real-time protection is turned off and every time I click it on, it takes forever to do anything and doesn't turn on, just gets stuck on the "starting" indicator.  Not sure whats causing the issue but any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDITED: just noticed that with the new install and activation ransomware protection is not starting up but all other protections are running.
