Is mbae-test.exe with MB 3.0.6. not suppose to be working/triggering a pop up?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am wondering whether my exploit protection is working correctly?  According  to Nikhils expert advice  In this thread "The mbae-test tool will not work for MB 3.0.6 if the Self protection is on" .

In my MB 3.0.6 Self Protection is set to "ON" but when I run the mbae-test.exe it seem to be doing something because it is triggering the following pop up:

Is this behaviour not normal for MB 3.0.6?

Hello @clower_element, @Firefox

My apologies for the Self protection setting info.

What you are seeing is the correct behavior . For a licensed product when Anti Exploit is enabled you will always see the pop-up/Exploit blocked  when trying to launch the tool in the Exploit mode, irrespective of weather the self protection is on or off.

When you are in the Trial or Free mode Anti exploit is off and  the tool run in Exploit mode will launch calculator.

Thank you.

Thanks for the clarification... that being said... I can understand the Anti exploit being turned off in the FREE version, but when one Trials a product shouldn't one have all options enabled?  Just my opinion of course... how can I test your Anti-exploit function of Malwarebytes when I am in Trial mode, as you stated since its off I can't, therefore the only way to test that feature would be to purchase your product....
