Sherm Posted April 15, 2017 ID:1117516 Share Posted April 15, 2017 (edited) I recently upgraded from my previous version of MB to 3.0.6. I have the premium version. Now I can't open Word, Excel or any of my saved documents unless I quit MB. What's the deal with this. Is there a fix? Phone Man Posted April 15, 2017 ID:1117548 Share Posted April 15, 2017 You can try this and see if it helps. Go to Managed Protected Applications under Exploit Protection in Settings and turn off Word and Excel protection. Jim
dcollins Posted April 15, 2017 ID:1117553 Share Posted April 15, 2017 @Phone Man is correct. There is a known issue with MB3 and Anti-Exploit right now that should be addressed in our next release. Until then, the steps above are the only workaround

Hardhead Posted April 15, 2017 ID:1117604 Share Posted April 15, 2017 I take it that this issue is with Windows 10. Everything is good here on Windows 8.1.
Sherm Posted April 16, 2017 Author ID:1117679 Share Posted April 16, 2017 My PC is running Windows 7. However, I was able to resolve the issue with Word and Excel as noted above.
FJM Posted April 23, 2017 ID:1119290 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Thank You Phoneman, thought I was going crazy. dcollins - any idea when the fix will be released?
Buck115 Posted April 23, 2017 ID:1119296 Share Posted April 23, 2017 dcollins: I read another thread in this forum that problems existed with Office 2016 applications and the Creators Update. It is nice to hear that a fix is in the works for the next Malwarebytes release because I have a new computer arriving at the end of next week that will have Office 2016 Pro installed. However, as a data point, my current computer has Office 2010 Pro installed and is running the Windows 10 Pro Creators update; so far the latest version of Malwarebytes doesn't seem to be causing me any problems with the Office applications.
