Hello All,

A fix for this issue has been released in our ARW standalone release this week. This will be incorporated into the Malwarebytes Premium in the next Premium release which is slated for end of march 2018. For now if you would like to try out the fix on the standalone ARW product, it can be downloaded from https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/211708-latest-version-mbarw-beta-09-v-0918807-download/

Sincere apologies for the delay

Hi - does the new MWB premium release 3.4.4 now have proper WSL support? I can't see it mentioned in the release notes:

Added better handling for heavily infected systems to streamline detection & remediation
Continued improvements to overall protection, detection and remediation

Improved report design for better usability
Added device name to My Account screen in preparation to sync with My Account portal
Updated the API used to interact with Windows Action/Security Center
Changed the 'Recover if missed by' setting for Scheduled Scans to be enabled by default for new scans
Numerous other user interface and copy improvements
Stability/issues fixed

Fixed issue where files did not save properly with anti-ransomware enabled
Fixed issue where notifications could stack so you might see multiple versions of same message
Fixed issue where Beta opt in setting would not honor Restore Defaults

Hi @innoculated - not yet. As Dheeraj mentioned above "This will be incorporated into the Malwarebytes Premium in the next Premium release which is slated for end of march 2018"

The fix is currently in our standalone ARW release.

It's also in our current internal test builds of Malwarebytes for Windows (MB3), which is still slated for release at the end of this month.

Hi Bob

Thanks for the fix and comms :-)

Sorry for the delay in replying - busy work period.

This morning I successfully installed WSL with Ubuntu on my machine with the latest MWareBytes official download and I was able to run and complete the sudo command in the original post. No error messages from either WSL or MWareBytes.

FWIW: I am a unix novice and I only want WSL as a simple learning environment.
