Does Malwarebytes protect your home network? Crash your browsers?

Recommended Posts

I got Malwarebytes today because I was told it wouldn't slow down my computer like Norton is.  Norton was protecting my network, now that I have MWB installed, it has defaulted to Windows protection.  Does MWB protect my network too?

Also, since I installed the program, my Chrome and FireFox browsers no longer load.  Any solution to that?

Thanks,

Margie

What do you mean "protect your network"? Malwarebytes doesn't scan other devices on your network like you may have seen tools like Norton.

As for Chrome/Firefox, this is a known issue and we are developing a solution now. Currently there are two workarounds. The ideal solution is to install the 64-bit versions of Chrome and Firefox instead of the 32-bit (assuming you have a 64-bit computer). The less ideal solution is to go to Settings -> Protection and under Manage Protected Applications, turn off Chrome and Firefox from being protected.
