Web Protection - Real Time Protection - not turning on, or staying on

Recommended Posts

Hello -

I am having some difficulty with my Malwarebytes Real Time Protection - When I can get it to turn on, it only stays on for a little while before turning back off again. Here is what I have done so far -

Uninstalled malwarebytes using the malwarebytes removal tool, cleaned up with ccleaner, rebooted, and then reinstalled the newest version from the website - running the installer package as admin. This worked for less than 24 hours.

Turned off "Enable Self Protection Module," rebooted - this worked for less than 24 hours.

Used malwarebytes chameleon to scan computer - nothing found

Used ADWcleaner to scan computer - nothing found

Used Junkware remover to scan computer - nothing found

Used Anti-Rootkit to scan computer - nothing found

Updated Vipre antivirus to its latest and greatest, excluded all of malwarebyte's system files - didn't help.

Used Vipre antivirus to scan the computer - nothing found

Updated my operating system and plugins - didn't help.

I am having this issue on multiple computers - all running Windows 10 Pro in a domain environment, with the latest OS updates, on i3/i5/7 computers with atleast 4 gigs of RAM. Other software installed - Vipre Business Antivirus, and Dental Vision

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and Welcome

Lets make sure you have the latest version installed, if that does not work, then provide the logs so we can see.

Let's try this first.... (Please remember to de-activate your Malwarebytes first before un-installing or using the clean removal tool)

  1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (after uninstalling you can download the latest version (currently v3.0.6 CU4) to re-install from HERE)
  2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 4 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 4 logs are: mbam logs zipped, FRST.txt, Addition.txt and mb-checkResult.txt)
  3. NOTE: More info about the latest Malwarebytes 3.0.6 CU4 HERE; MB 3 User Guide ONLINE; MB 3 User Guide PDF; MB 3 FAQ: Malwarebytes 3.0 - Frequently Asked Questions

Please let us know how it goes.
