Kep1a Posted April 4, 2017 ID:1114769 Share Posted April 4, 2017 I have 2 computers that will not take the update and remain operational. IE Protection package will not turn on and it will not update so I have left them on the old version. I already have a thread for that problem but have decided to just wait for a proper fix before I allow it to upgrade. This PC however seemed to take the update and all is well except I get a notification that real time protection is turned off. The notification popup gives the option to turn it and it does turn on, but only until I restart my PC and have to turn it on again. I also can't be sure it is updating properly as it says current even right after startup. I ask it to update the progress line dashes across and I again get current. The version information is 3.0.6.1496, 1.0.75 and 10.1658. How can I tell if it is properly updating?
dcollins Posted April 4, 2017 ID:1114771 Share Posted April 4, 2017 Component Update 1.0.75 is an older version. I would recommend starting by installing Component Update 1.0.96 from the following link and seeing if that resolves your issue (it has quite a few fixes in it)
Kep1a Posted April 4, 2017 Author ID:1114842 Share Posted April 4, 2017 That seems to have fixed it. Is it now safe and stable enough to install this version over my other 2.2.xx versions? I just don't have the time or patience right now to deal with another crash. Especially on the computers that I use for diagnostics at work. There is little risk of infections as I primarily only go online for software updates with my work PC's. So I would rather wait until I have more time if there is any real risk of it crashing them. dcollins Posted April 4, 2017 ID:1114844 Share Posted April 4, 2017 For a large majority of users, CU4 is working extremely well
