Finally removed Malwarebytes 3.06

Recommended Posts

After updating to version 3.06 I have finally completely uninstalled it. Started getting real time protection pop up which would freeze up our computer.  Running Kapersky as well on a Windows 7 machine. Then when I  booted our computer the entire machine would simply freeze - you could see all of your window icons but if you tried clicking on anything it would hang - you would have to shut down the machine over and over and over.  So I removed MB 3.06 rebooted everything worked great - did this 3 times by reinstalling MB 3.06 and everything froze up again - removed MB 3.06 and booted everything fine.

Running a small business we do not have time to deal with spending hours dealing with this hassle. We have the Premium paid version of MB and this latest update is terrible to put it mildly.  From reading the forums and the web it seems like many others are having similar issues since the new version was released.  We used MB for years without any issues - this latest version is not good at all!

Hello and Welcome... Sorry your having issues with lockups... Have you tried the latest CU4 version? IMO its more stable that the current version out there.  You can try installing that one to see how it goes, and also add exclusions to your Kaspersky AV...

Let's try this first.... (I would go with the CU4 BETA version)  (Please remember to de-activate your Malwarebytes first before un-installing or using the clean removal tool)

  1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (after uninstalling you can download the latest version to re-install from HERE) (If you prefer to test the latest Malwarebytes 3.0.6 CU4 -- BETA Preview which corrects many issues with the current version you can get it from HERE)
  2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 4 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 4 logs are: mbam logs zipped, FRST.txt, Addition.txt and mb-checkResult.txt)
  3. NOTE: More info about Malwarebytes 3.0.6 CU4 HERE; MB 3 User Guide ONLINE; MB 3 User Guide PDF; MB 3 FAQ: Malwarebytes 3.0 - Frequently Asked Questions

Exclude these files in your Kaspersky

I would like you to add these files to your Anti-Virus exclusions list

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\assistant.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MbamPt.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMService.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbamtray.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMWsc.exe

I also suggest adding these to the exclusion list in your Antivirus software.

  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbae64.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\MBAMChameleon.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\MBAMSwissArmy.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mwac.sys
  • C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\farflt.sys

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank You,
