Malwarebytes 3.0.6 - GPU hindrance

Recommended Posts

I was prompted to install the latest version of Malwarebytes, which I did, which brought me into 3.0

I've never had performance issues with Malwarebytes in the past, it has run quietly in the background without affecting my screen-tablet drawing software, like Photoshop.

But once 3.0 was up and running, my brush strokes in Photoshop are very sluggish and delayed. Sometimes it takes a couple of seconds for it to render. The pressure sensitivity features will even crash and I'll have to restart the program.

I tried turning off each of the real-time protections, one at a time, but this changed nothing. Only when I completely exit out of the Malwarebytes program does my prior drawing performance return. I even did a clean reinstall and reactivation, but the same problems persist.

The task manager does not show a huge increase in RAM consumption. The MBAM tray process only takes ~4000K, just like before, and yet, my graphics performance is sluggish, unlike before.

Graphics: 2048MB ATI AMD Radeon R7 200 Series (MSI)

CPU: Intel Core i3 2100 @ 3.10GHz

Screen-Tablet: MSP19U (1440x900@60Hz)

My current workaround is to disconnect from the Internet and exit MBAM while I'm working in Photoshop, but this isn't optimal.

Hello and Welcome!

Let's try this first.... (I would go with the CU4 BETA version)  (Please remember to de-activate your Malwarebytes first before un-installing or using the clean removal tool)

  1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (after uninstalling you can download the latest version to re-install from HERE) (If you prefer to test the latest Malwarebytes 3.0.6 CU4 -- BETA Preview which corrects many issues with the current version you can get it from HERE)
  2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 4 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 4 logs are: mbam logs zipped, FRST.txt, Addition.txt and mb-checkResult.txt)
  3. NOTE: More info about Malwarebytes 3.0.6 CU4 HERE; MB 3 User Guide ONLINE; MB 3 User Guide PDF; MB 3 FAQ: Malwarebytes 3.0 - Frequently Asked Questions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank You,
