Vim for Windows appears to have been misidentified as ransomware

I installed Vim for Windows (the text editor) from the author website about four days ago. Malwarebytes detects it as ransomware and quarantines it.

Can you investigate this?

Three days ago, I installed the latest version of Malywarebytes 3.0.6, which later on quarantined Vim for Windows on my laptop. So the problem reported by Zekka on March 28, which you subsequently fixed, has recurred? Please have a look. Thanks.

I can't reproduce detection here (at least not on above file Zekko attached). So can you zip and attach the exact file that was detected in your case, including the MBAMSERVICE.LOG, which you can find here: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\logs\

As an additional note - we are on MB3.1.2 in a meanwhile, which is also the version available to download on our site.

Mike, many thanks for your prompt response. I'd like to download MB 3.1.2 to see if it still quarantines Vim for Windows. Pardon a dumb question: Should I just click FREE DOWNLOAD on https://www.malwarebytes.com/? I bought the license a few years ago so am not sure if that's the correct button to click to download.

MPKS, yes, that's correct - Just click the free download + install and and once installed, it will pick up your license anyway.

Mike, I just downloaded MB 3.1.2 and test-edited a text file with Vim. Thankfully, no quarantines by MB any more.
