After updating to 3.0, scan notifications have started to tab me out of any videogame I'm playing. This is problematic for obvious reasons and is made even worse by the fact that these notifications cannot be turned off. Please stop these notifications from tabbing out of the current window or give us an option for this. Any gamer would agree that this is unacceptable for an antivirus as it can single-handedly cause a loss in any competitive videogame.

@dcollinsI can also confirm that turning off notifications worked for the protection is off pop up because I (for first time EVER for me since BETA) when I restarted a bit ago exploit protection was off and no pop up but did have the triangle in the tray icon. So like any other end user I tried to start it of course that did not work (stuck on starting)so I exited MB and restarted computer. Still same so I tried to open MB and was greeted bu the "cannot connect to service" error" So I restarted again and got the rootkit driver message prompting for another restart so restarted and now MB seems back to normal.

Before I started these tests I turned on logging. Here is a full set of logs. :)

OK! I think I figured it out. Can you try the following steps please:

  1. Make sure notifications are turned off under Settings -> Application
  2. Delete your current scheduled scan
  3. Create a new scheduled scan (do not edit an existing one)
  4. Let the scan run
  5. Notification should not popup

Can you please confirm if this works for you?

@dcollinsJust a note that might help. I just found that when my browser is open and I start MB (it was off wile I got those logs)  exploit protection would not start until I closed MB and the browser (FF) and opened MB again. this could be a cause of the protections being off for some if a browser is opened before MB initializes.

It makes sense that the browsers have too be closed when MB starts to "hook"into them.

Also makes sense when end users are trying to fix things the browser is open for reference. Food for thought.

after talking to our engineers, this is intended.

I already figured it was.

But I not just an end user.

But it could help staff and helpers to ask that browsers are closed during certain tasks. (canned replies)
