When a website is blocked the popup that comes up has the manage exclusions button or something along those lines. Clicking that just opens malwarebytes on the main page you then need to click settings and then exclusions.

What I am suggesting is an easier possible way of doing this. Basically an allow button in the popup like a firewall uses, allowing you to unblock the website without having to go into the settings and add it manually or at least when clicking the add exclusion button being taken to the correct area straight away.

MB used to have that feature and it led to many just excluding right away and infecting the computers. The extra steps as you say give the user time to think twice and investigate before allowing the exception.

I saw that with many of my paid clients in the past. I for one im glad that feature was removed.

While I can see a problem for business users (which should be managed by IT), for individuals I support this suggestion, along with a confirmation popup that basically says "Are your sure...." (much like VooDooShield offers), and offers the option to open the site in a sandboxed browser.

Why though? Surely it's just the same firewall wise. When a program tries to load without rules with an interactive firewall you are given the option to allow/ignore etc. If you're just allowing everything that isn't the programs fault but the user.

Maybe it should be off by default and that way only people who know the risks should use it. Or like I said at least when you click manage exclusions be taken to the exclusion page.

The easier it is to allow the easier it is for users to screw up., many user just click click click without thinking. Thats why HIPS are not very good for most users because they don't know what to allow or not to allow.  Best software is idiot proof.

Yes but you tell them that when you sold them a program that is supposed to protect them and are charging them another 100 bucks for cleaning.

Especially at the current price point and being a subscription now. I will bet you that that will be the last time you see them or anyone they know.

There's ways to avoid that for example like I suggested having it as an advanced feature disabled by default. Or the least they can do is have clicking exclusions taking you straight to exclusions. The thing is if it's a genuine website being blocked and the user is someone without a lot of knowledge it could be argued the lack of this option makes it hard for that user to unblock it

Who is charging $100 for cleaning? You can get that done here for free.

I know, there is no easy solution, you have to try to protect both the computer novice and computer expert at the same time. Glad I'm not the one who has to try to figure out how to do this.

I do as a repair shop and a Malwarebytes re-seller.
