My usual provider of subcriber protection services - Used your services to "cure" sound only advertising popups, that seemed to come on "Pop up" randomly that could not be cancelled except by the "Mute Button", Somebody for about 30 minutes perhaps longer, trying to get me to invest in his computer website business, in order to live the high life "like John who invested in his Lamborgini. etc.". It probally was just malicious". Another used to start "Hi! I'm Julie etc..", and another that used to say "Psst! Want a smiley Press the button" and finally ""A lip smacking kissing sound, & Press the Button",

I was of the opinion they were being transmitted with me using Internet Explorer. I could have been wrong, but I am of the opinion that this could have been related to a "Pop up " that appeared inviting me to get internet explorer 8 by "pressing the button".

I say this because, having recorded a TV program using my computer this "Kissing and press the button" was heard throughout a particular broadcast, and when played back though the Computer, but after I felt I had to press the Microsoft continualled pop up request to update to internet explorer 8, and replaying the recording, like Magic it had disapeared.

Why I think it was Microsoft, because earlier I had been using windows 98Se as set up by the PC builder with absolutely no problem for at least 6years, when I obtained a dial up internet connection, fantastic, Progress until I went to the Microsoft website and tried to update my operating system, That "Messed" the whole system up, most times thereafter On starting up |I was met with a spool 32 error message, even after using the original Microsoft Program disc. eventually I was forced to buy new and almost a year I am just getting to deal with some of the problems. I have had the "Kissing sound" on the Windows 98Se system sometimes at final shutdown, after a problem as if "Microsoft are taking the piss"(A British Expression relating to being laughed at). So of course Internet explorer 8 is full of programs to try and follow me everywhere and sell me just about everything, so I have held them in the recycle bin and perhapse will release them one at a time if I think I may want to use a part, to see what happens.

I also use only Yahoo.co.uk webmail for my emails, but I feel certain some of these "Voice only Pop Ups " have come through and being voice some how wriggle throuh my broad band suppliers fire wall, and may be transmitted through Yahoo and their spam filter. as they cannot be identifed and cannot be registered as spam. I use Yahoo for news.

Since your program was first used - it straight away found 15 infections and at near the end of the scan found another 10, these could not be found by my usual service, while it found recurring adware cookies and put them in a "Vault" they would revolve agaiin, by others. nextime.

I refer to my earlier note in respect of using Malwarebytes to get rid of "Sound Popups either from Internet explorer and Yahoo webmail, These have now both packed up, it would seem that Malware bytes destroyed the host. They did'nt like it. My I.E. has Yahoo as its opening page, and Yahoo..co.uk/com just clicks just searching for Yahoo.com

Any body any Ideas?

You say it detected and took care of quite a few infections plus you are having issues with your home pages too. First impressions are that you suffered a browser hijacker amongst other things and I would say your best bet would be to follow this MBAM guide: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=9573
