Before I begin

Recommended Posts

Before I begin even running the FRST tool, I have a couple of questions.

1. The account that appears to be infected is a Standard User account. Should I leave that alone and just run the tool as a standard user? What about the Admin user account (The one I made to facilitate installing programs)?

2. I uninstalled some parts of Avira (the VPN and the System Speeder-upper) and it restored services to the previous state. This has caused MalwareBytes malware scanning to be disabled. Will simply uninstalling/reinstalling Malwarebytes solve this problem?

3. I'm not 100% certain that what I'm infected with is simply malware, it appears (based on computer behavior) scripts are also being run, or worse. Should I run FRST from Safe Mode because of what I'm experiencing?
