sman Posted March 12, 2017 ID:1107981 Share Posted March 12, 2017 VPN will override all protection, your DNS, AV's and unsafe for personal use.. unless you want access to restricted sites/zones, a temporary browser extension should do the job.. David H. Lipman Posted March 12, 2017 ID:1107995 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Use of a VPN enhances security, it does not diminish it. That is, of course, if the VPN provider is a trusted provider. For example: If you are in a public area such as a Cafe or Airport that provides Free WiFi access, use of a VPN over the WiFi will definitely enhance you security. The same goes for staying at a Hotel that provides WiFi.
sman Posted March 12, 2017 ID:1108001 Share Posted March 12, 2017 yeah..but to what level of trust, when your traffic is routed thru' it? certainly I only use it temporary to access restricted content and never wager on it for personal use..
sman Posted March 13, 2017 ID:1108099 Share Posted March 13, 2017 With VPN there is every possbility of being re-directed to rogue sites with DNS under VPN a grave risk and big no-no for personal use.. Also, one is better off from accessing personal content with free/public wi-fi..As a golden rule, personal access to be only with reliable home network and not with public..More better under wired access .. Info on how to exclude anything from Malwarebytes 3.0, including websites and processes from Web Protection can be found here. I hope this helps .
