MBAMservice.exe associated with Malwarebytes using close to 100% of my CPU

I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro on an HP p6500z desktop with an AMD Sempron 140 processor (2.70 GHz) with 3.0 GB of RAM, so I'm 100% positive I'm virus free. I also have the antivirus program Avira installed alongside Malwarebytes. The problem I'm having now is that the process MBAMservice.exe associated with Malwarebytes is consuming close to a 100% of my CPU. When I uninstalled Malwarebytes it solved the issue. How can I use both Avira and Malwarebytes at the same time without maxing out my CPU?

Hold on, the problem just resurfaced with chrome open. I just disabled hardware acceleration in Chrome. Could that be the issue? I'm pretty sure though that I was still even this issue even when Chrome was closed.

Were you checking the CPU percentage when the Malwarebytes window was open and a scan was running? If so, this makes sense as having the window open will cause Malwarebytes to use as much of the CPU as possible. If you close the Malwarebytes window, it will use less processor power.
