Is this during a full scan or quick scan?

Malwarebytes does not recommend full scans to search for malware. Our quick scan is designed to find all the places malware loads in memory and hides from conventional scanners.

There are any number of reasons a scan will hang, freeze, appear to stop or take different lengths of time to complete, including file\folder content, other security software quarantine files, amount of user accounts and more.

We're constantly working to improve the full scan parameters on some systems which exhibit this hanging issue.

When\if this issue is resolved 100%, we will still continue to recommend quick scans as the best way to detect malware.
