This is the most frustrating software problems I have seen. Small intro . On installation my install seemed to be "wrong" so some setting would not remain SET. This lasted for a week.
I kept receiving REAL TIME PROTECTION LAYERS TURNED OFF.. resetting that option 100 times would not fix it then . out of nowhere id get the Yeah your system is protected.
For 3-4 weeks ive experienced this on/off protection warning and suddenly the YEAH you are protected . On Monday it hit HARD. Nothing I did would allow the Web Protection: Option to start or it would start and go off again . Whiles starting   I would see the VERY informative message "Starting....."

But now I have an additional Pain the A$$ :

Delay Real-Time Protection when Malwarebytes starts is locked as OFF. To toggle doesn't work.

To TOP IT OFF I was hit with the old "Your computer has a virus , call XXX-XXX-XXXX to get help.
If you do not call all your files will be corrupted.  I eexamined the page code and it was ALL code catching the onclose event and repeating the message
I had to fire up Microsoft Security to stop the loop. (MON GUYS ... REALLY???!)

So what has happened now?

Sorry to hear your having issues... your version of Malwarebytes according to your screen shot is outdated... follow the setups below to get the most resent version which should address the issue your seeing. As for the Call xxx-xxx-xxxx those are fake websites and they are being created daily by the bad guys to stay ahead of the anti-virus and anti-malware companies, best we can do is when we come across them we report them in the Research Center

Let's try this first....

  1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (after uninstalling you can download the latest version to re-install from HERE)
  2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 4 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 4 logs are: mbam logs zipped, FRST.txt, Addition.txt and mb-checkResult.txt)
  3. NOTE: More info about Malwarebytes 3.0.6 CU3 HERE; MB 3 User Guide ONLINE; MB 3 User Guide PDF; MB 3 FAQ: Malwarebytes 3.0 - Frequently Asked Questions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank You,

AFTER 4 days I am back where we started -

I uninstalled - and reinstall.

You have a problem with naming your files for production

the file names are VERY obscure with NO Version  #

This is truly a standard to name files with a "hint" as to what they do and a version

The two files I downloaded had the same cryptic name. You have 4 other .exe files with just cryptic letters.

This is a STANDARD production software since  MS-DOS !!!

So now what ?

That is a redirect. They can happen everywhere and are NOT viruses. All that is necessary to git rid of them is to use task manager to close your browser a couple times in a row and when the browser asks you to restore the crashed page tell it no. Each browser works different.

Malwarebytes can block those ONLY if they know about them. Many if us report them all the time. But hundreds of them crop up all over the web on a daily basis. All it takes to create them is to advertise on sites like Facebook and purchase AD's on google ect.

We report those at the link below
