Dashboard won't show and no possible interaction with malwarebytes

Hi, in the last few days, the following is happening: I can't interact with malwarebytes at all. When I click to show the dashboard, it just starts the assistant.exe and that's it(see attached image).

If I right click the tray, it doesn't do anything at all(same as above). So I can't interact with the program, I can't quit it, nothing. The only solution is to restart.

 

And when I restart, everything functions as it should, but, after some time (I don't have any idea what triggers this behavior) I'll end up with the same issue.

Also, it seems that malwarebytes won't update the database automatically(see attached image) when this issue appears.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and Welcome!

Let's try this first....

  1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (after uninstalling you can download the latest version to re-install from HERE)
  2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 4 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 4 logs are: mbam logs zipped, FRST.txt, Addition.txt and mb-checkResult.txt)

Thanks for the welcoming and for your help!

I uninstalled and re-installed malwarebytes (so I got the component package 1.0.75) and everything seems to function as it should. I will give it some time though, to check how it goes.

Couple of questions, unrelated to the aforementioned issue: Why don't the Component and Update package, update automatically? Is it because of preview versions and such? Will it update automatically in the future, or, one will have to download and install a new build manually?
