I purchased a new copy of Malwarebytes anti-malware premium today.  It was suppose to include Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit and Anti-Ransomware.  When I went to load, it would not accept the activation code and key supplied.  So I loaded the current free version and applied my activation codes to it.  Everything was working good until I noticed a popup message stating that I was not protected.  I went into set-up and under the protection tab I selected all real time protection on.  But for some reason the web protection and malware protection only show started.  The only one to go on is the exploit protection.  The ransonware protection shows as unavailable yet my account shows I have a Premium edition?  How can I get my computer protected?  On another note I believe that my computer still has a virus.  Could be ransomware.  Reason is I can start in safe mode and all works fine.  Once I start in Normal mode my CPU goes to 100% and I do not have more then a few services running then in safe mode..

The version I loaded was mb3-setup-consumer-3.0.6.1469-1075.

"If you run across any issue while using Malwarebytes, please create a new topic in this forum (here) and provide the following detail to help us help you."

If your system is experiencing an issue, I strongly advise you start your own individual topic and supply the requested data as above.  It is highly appreciated by volunteer helpers and Malwarebytes' staffers alike if each user starts their own individual topic.  No two systems are ever alike.

Thank you always for your patience and understanding.

I solved my problem with web protection and malware protection not turning on.  I have a virus or malware taking over my machine.  So I was running it in Safemode.  Looks like the above protection will not turn on in safemode.  I tried it in normal mode and I got the three to turn on.  With the exception of Ransomware protection.  Still working on that one.  But in normal mode my CPU goes to 100% and makes my machine very slow.  I have run rkill, adwcleaner and JRT several times but they have not killed this virus which seems to be changing files on my computer.  Any help will be appreciated.  I will send a mb-check file a little later.

@Moose

Since you say you have a virus it would be best to have one of the experts help you clean your computer first. So, for expert assistance, I suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.

It explains the options for free, expert help -->>AND<<-- the suggested, preliminary steps to expedite the process.
A malware analyst will assist you with looking into your issue.

Thank you

If you still run the OS Windows XP the ransomware protection included in MB3 is unavailable.inherently. For ransomware protection the minimum requirement is OS Windows Vista.
