I have a computer that seems to have issues with scanning while in normal mode. I have booted into safe mode and completed a quick and full scan using malwarebytes. Both come back with no infected items. When I attempt to scan in normal mode, the scanning stops after about 15 - 20 sec. I have reviewed the event logs for errors and have found none that tie to this.

This is a dell computer running xp pro sp3, and has trend micro internet security installed. (malwarebytes is setup as an approved program)

Please note that trend does not generate any type of error.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled malwarebytes and get the same results.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Same problem I had on 3 pc's with Trend Micro.. You have to configure TM with mbam file manually

Instructions for users of Trend Micro Internet Security 2009:

Exit out of MBAM - make sure the Protection Module is OFF.

Open Trend Micro Internet Security and select Virus & Spyware Controls

Click Settings

Select Advanced Settings

Click Ignore specific files and folders and click select

Add the folder C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Add the file C:\Documents & Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

Click OK to exit

Now, Open the same area: Virus & Spyware Controls

Click on Prevent Unauthorized Changes

Click on Exceptions List

Now click Add Program

Add the following files:

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam-dor.exe

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

Just to the right of each item the scrollbar should read TRUST on all of them Not Block

Click OK to exit.

Next, configure Personal Firewall Control:

From Trend Micro's main screen click on Settings

Click on Advanced Settings

Select Program Control

Select Add Program

Add the following:

mbam.exe (located at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\)

Click OK to exit.

Now please reboot your computer then run Malwarebytes' and update it then start the protection module.

report back please, same instructions are above my post
