Hello--

We've just posted a new beta update installer to test out the upcoming Malwarebytes 3.0 component package update.

I've updated the info and download link in this post:

The issues with Web Protection and Anti-Ransomware not starting should hopefully be resolved now, as well as the issues with DNS not resolving properly.

We would certainly appreciate it if you could try this latest installer and let us know if these issues are resolved.

The installer version is 3.0.6.1469 but after install the component package version displayed on the About screen should be 1.0.75.

Thank you in advance for your help and feedback!

Hello, ejbeak!

It is certainly the intention that this update will address the Web Protection issues.  :)

You should not need to uninstall any earlier version that you currently have installed, so installing on top of your existing version should be fine.

If you experience any problems with the installation, however, then please uninstall the old version and install this new one.

Again, cannot 'Enable self-protection module' or 'Enable self-protection module early start' button to On or Off.

Can you try rebooting to see if that fixes the issue?

This installer isn't the "true" way this update will be delivered, but more a work-around to let folks test out the component update early.  If rebooting doesn't help, then it would be helpful to get a copy of your mbamservice log.  I understand you're frustrated, but we're working on addressing these issues as quickly as we can.

On second thought, if my problem still exists after a clean install, will just keep this version as the 'Enable self-protection module early start' being Off is not a game changer since the 'Enable self-protection module' is set to On.

Clean install solved the problems.  Everything working as it should, so far.

Becky, while you are looking into the issues, can you tell whomever to incorporate into the Dashboard>Protection History next to the ? another button/icon to reset or clear every counter back to 0.

Also solved the issue for me. Protection buttons are now responding as they should. Was it an installer issue?

All working as it should. However the dashboard protection counter appears to be excessive. I mean I have just clean installed mbam 3 and visited http://iptest.malwarebytes.org/ two times for DNS checking and the counter says 6 real time protections. Have had no protection alerts aside from the two web blocks. Also noticed this in the previous component version where the number was over 40 so called real time protections on the counter but way above what it should have been according to alerts for real time protection I received.
