Deactivate b/f uninstall 3.0

Hi - as much as I hate to do it, I am going to go back to V2 of MWB. 3.0 continues to have problems with protections being disabled - I have uninstalled and reinstalled about 3 times so think I'll wait it out with v2 until 3 gets fixed. Anyway, someone mentioned to deactivate license b/f uninstalling. If I do that will I be able to re-activate it on the V2 account? Thank you.

If you have a valid license, you can use it either for Anti-Malware 2 or MB3.

Hi Dublin,

Yes, you should deactivate your Malwarebytes 3.0 installation before uninstalling it and installing Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.2.1, otherwise you might run into activation issues that can only be solved with the assistance of the Help Desk.

A little off topic but maybe not. Does anyone know about the Macrium software issue that this version of MWB was supposed to cure? V3 was working fine for about a week and then I installed Macrium on Sunday and now mwb has the ransomeware protection disabled. Should I try an exclusion for that software? I am not sure which file to list  -- if you think I should, pls point out the file or folder that I should exclude. I am hoping that by listing this software in the exclusion category the problem will be solved and I can keep V3. The protection setting for Ransomeware is now disabled since the Macrium install. Before it was "web" protection but that seems fine now. Thanks.

The Macrium Reflect issue should have been solved. What's your Component package version?

Macrium Reflect causing protections to stall?   Exact problem I have with MWB 3.06 on multiple machines.   Did not know there was a tie in.    My MWB version info (on two separate machine) is as follows: 

MWB version:  3.0.6.1469

Component:  1.0.50

Update package:  1.0.1325

From my understanding, you shouldn't have to do anything now. The issue with Macrium Reflect wasn't that the Ransomware module wasn't starting, but that running it while Macrium was taking a snapshot of the system would end up in the creation of big files.

Well unfortunately it doesn't work as in doesn't start. What is your recommendation? Uninstall and go back to V2? What about the exclusion question. Does that do any good? Thanks.

Installed the beta from the link in post 9 and now both these machines will continue to run MWB 3.06 without any errors after running a Macrium Reflect image.   Thanks all!!
