This is what we call malvertising:

Basically, some ads can be used in a way where they'll forcibly redirect your web browser to a new window, tab, or even automatically download and install malware on your system. To protect yourself against this, you should use a good adblocker. Personally under Mozilla Firefox I recommend using uBlock Origin. Install the extension and give it a few days, see if you're still being redirected to that page with the firefox-patch.js file or not.
