Aura Posted February 21, 2017 ID:1103431 Share Posted February 21, 2017 This is what we call malvertising: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malvertising Basically, some ads can be used in a way where they'll forcibly redirect your web browser to a new window, tab, or even automatically download and install malware on your system. To protect yourself against this, you should use a good adblocker. Personally under Mozilla Firefox I recommend using uBlock Origin.
