Hi,

The first time I installed this last version, it gave that :

web4.thumb.jpg.2ea3bdc3cab2f18c2db86adff4a29843.jpg

Difficult to understand, isn't it ?

So, I uninstalled it, removed the leftovers, rebooted, reinstalled, re-rebooted and wanted to test it.  The result is that everything is "on" (web protection, exploit,  etc...) but when I click the web page test, it says me that the protection is disabled.

Tried this :

If it is your Website Protection having issues, please try the following two things:

  1. Under Settings -> Protection, turn on "Enable self-protection module early start". Then reboot and see if your protection module starts up
  2. If that doesn't work, under Settings -> Protection, turn off the option for "Enable self-protection module". Then reboot and see if your protection module starts up

but the buttons are not active (they weren't already before uninstall, the first time).

Else uninstalling a third time...is there a solution to get a MB3 working fine ?

Thank you.

Today :

There are  two pages to test :   http://52.21.84.70/    and     http://iptest.malwarebytes.org/

The first works fine with IE11, Edge, Chrome and Firefox.

The second works fine only with Firefox. With the other browsers, it gives "The page can't be reached...".

I will check again tomorrow, in case this program works well only on odd days.:)

Acroblaze,

Can you elaborate more on the issue?  You are saying all protection layers are on, but you navigate to one of the test websites listed, and you see a notification stating protection is disabled?

Do you see this on your screen?protection_off_dashboard.png.e51f57a29d8af51de787037209cf4b24.pngprotection_off.png.3d3aeee5420b313a63404d29cff3639e.png

According to the logs you've attached, it shows Web Protection is enabled.

Hi @Jekko

1-  Yesterday, exactly as you said. Everytimes I clicked the two test url, the page said "If you are able to reach....".

2-  No, web protection is "on" since the installation, no problem with that. Today, things are as described in my second post.

3- Yes, indeed, it is.

What changed between yesterday and today : Under Settings -> Protection,  "Enable self-protection module early start" is "on", but yesterday, the button seemed inactive and showed "off".

I hope the solution will come soon. Thank you for the response.

I see this one all the time, just like the Real Time protection shut off. Open the interface navigating to Settings and the Protection tab. Click on the Web Protection sliders that states "turning on"...if it hangs, reboot and you should be good.

As said, the web protection is already "on".....

Acrobaze,

Have you tried clearing your browser's cache, or using CTRL+F5 to revisit the test block pages?  If the browser has a cache on the website, it's possible you will see a block notification, but the webpage will not be redirected to https://block.malwarebytes.org/

@Jekko

Just tried, but the same résults.

Finaly, this is this test page :   http://iptest.malwarebytes.org/  which doesn't work with IE11, Chrome and Edge, and today Firefox.

The other one : http://52.21.84.70/ works fine with every browser.

With Firefox 51.0.1 (64-bit) Edge and IE  http://iptest.malwarebytes.org/ is blocked correctly.

Delete your browser cache and try again.

Forgot to say that my post related to Chrome and Windows 7 - thanks, I'll try clearing the cache when I'm next back on the PC.

UPDATE - cleared the cache and still get "This site cannot be reached"

Forgot to say that after clearing the cache restart your browser.

That worked for me.

That was silly of me not to remember to clean the cache - however, still get "This site cannot be reached". I'm not overly worried about it at the moment, I'm not in the habit of browsing potentially dodgy sites - I'm sure it'll get resolved soon.

@TempLost and @Jekko

Problem solved.

- Uninstalled MB via the control panel and rebooted as asked

- Ran the mb-clean tool which works for every MB version  (look at the "readme.txt" file) :

https://malwarebytes.app.box.com/v/mb-clean  and rebooted (many registry keys and files removed)

- Re-installed the 24Feb version and rebooted.

Everything works fine, now.
