hi malwarebytes staff, i passed to mbam 3.0.

the problem is simple and well known, and you haven't fixed it yet: website-realtime protection keeps turning off. it's becoming very frustrating.

Now listen: i'm a premium user since 2 years, and i'll keep paying because i found malwarebytes a nice software worth it, and your company a solid one. but you can't expect to surpass third party/traditional antivirus programs if you can't even fix this breaking and frustrating bug for so long time. i'll keep using both AV and Mbam, but i'll stick with the first one in case mbam will not be totally compatible... i hope you'll keep doing better, and solid as you did before.

Mbam is NOT an antivirus and the latest version fixed the startup problem on my two desktops.

Huh?

Quote

MAKES ANTIVIRUS OBSOLETE

Malwarebytes 3.0

Four layers of malware-crushing tech. Smarter detection. Specialized ransomware protection.
It's the security you’ve been looking for.

That's the text on the starting website of Malwarebytes.

I admit, there it isn't said literally, that MB3 is an antivirus, but claiming "makes antivirus obsolete" purports  being an AV.

Logically there isn't possible any other understanding of "make antivirus obsolete". Everything else is quibbleism.

MB3 may work in another way than a customary AV, but eventually it is an AV by its purpose and  its designated utilization.

By that MB3 must measure itself concerning its reliability and its absence of errors at other customary AVs.

At least at the time such measuring isn't very satisfying.

Sorry, KenW, you are not right, it isn't an old website information.

I tested my quote of the malwarebytes website by Google just before I posted my reply.

You find it still here:

https://www.malwarebytes.com/

And still on the German website as well:

https://de.malwarebytes.com

"MACHT ANTIVIRUS HINFÄLLIG" is in English MAKES ANTIVIRUS OBSOLETE, literal translation

Addition to my previous reply:

Every visitor while visiting both websites for the very first time gets the impression, that MB3 is an AV, maybe another kind of it, but it must be one because of the words "makes antivirus obsolete" - he can't get another conclusion.

Therefore I stay to my statement, that MB3 has to measure itself at any other AV, especially because of its purpose and its designated utilization.

Cars "obsoleted" horses as a primary means of transportation. Yet, cars are not horses, and are not "measured" by the the same qualities a rider would seek in a horse.

Did a search the other day when I saw this post and did not get the site about "replacing" antivirus. Just now I got that site.  So if Malwarebytes

did change something, the change did not propagate to all dns servers or got stuck somewhere in the world.

In any event, it is NOT an antivirus replacement. That has been asked many times over the years and has not changed. Antivirus

is a totally different animal, but has been intertwined with malware lately by some companies.

What does that mean :

- "....so that you can finally replace your traditional antivirus."

- "With the launch of Malwarebytes 3.0, we are confident that you can finally replace your traditional antivirus, "

Reading that reply I can't hinder myself to post a very last reply to enlarge upon that comparison.

Gist of your reply: A traditional AV ist the horse, MB3 claims to be the car.

In that case wanting to have a safe and trouble-free transportation I prefer at time the healthy and sturdy horse instead of a car with a sluggish engine, a creaky transmission, stuttering breaks and the uncertainty, if I ever will reach my destination.

If MB is ever able to develop a car (MB3) with a powerful, well running engine, a smooth transmission and excelently retarding breaks I certainly will change to the car. :)

GMork is right. guys, stop hiding behind linguistical quibbles.

Despite mbam not claiming to be an AV itself, by the sentence ''make AV obsolete'' you bring people to think that the software can replace every function/role an obsolete AV is appointed to do.

Since I AM the consumer, i'm brought into thinking that. Isn't that what you meant to say? 1) change the sentence Or 2) actually fix your promises OR, there's a word for that, It's Misleading Advertising, (and, guess, that's bad).

choice is yours.

P.s. Mbam 3.0 together with KIS 2017 is even slowing down my computer + the real time layer turning off. you've been too much farsighted this time.
