nobody_loves_me Posted February 19, 2017 ID:1102949 Share Posted February 19, 2017 Hey there! So I've recently been having an issue on my system where every hour on the dot a few command prompts come up real quick and disappear. I've got no idea what's causing this. It's so quick in fact that I'm unable to get a screenshot or even screencap it so I can get a frame. I've had to use slow-motion on my phone to get a decent photo of what the CMD looks like (attached). So I've followed the instructions from this thread and created a FRST.txt file and Addition.txt file (both attached). Help would be much appreciated! Cheers FRST.txt Addition.txt
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted February 26, 2017 Root Admin ID:1104507 Share Posted February 26, 2017 (edited) Hello @nobody_loves_me Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) is valid. Normally one would not see the Window though. Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb968799(v=vs.85).aspx Troubleshooting BITS with PowerShellhttps://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/cmpfekevin/2014/01/29/troubleshooting-bits-with-powershell/ You can see it was discussed here as well. Windows 10: Bitsadmin pops up randomly and immediately disappearshttps://www.tenforums.com/antivirus-firewalls-system-security/51063-bitsadmin-pops-up-randomly-immediately-disappears.html We can scan for possible infection, though. STEP 01 Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop. Shutdown your antivirus to avoid any conflicts. Right click over JRT.exe and select Run as administrator on Windows Vista or Windows 7, double-click on XP. The tool will open and start scanning your system. Please be patient as this can take a while to complete. On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open. Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next reply message When completed make sure to re-enable your antivirus STEP 02 Fix with AdwCleaner Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save the file to your Desktop. Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool. Accept the Terms of use. Wait until the database is updated. Click Scan. When finished, please click Clean. Your PC should reboot now. After reboot, logfile will be opened. Copy its content into your next reply. Note: Reports will be saved in your system partition, usually at C:\Adwcleaner STEP 03 Download Sophos Free Virus Removal Tool and save it to your desktop. Double click the icon and select Run Click Next Select I accept the terms in this license agreement, then click Next twice Click Install Click Finish to launch the program Once the virus database has been updated click Start Scanning If any threats are found click Details, then View Log file (bottom left-hand corner) Copy and paste the results in your reply Close the Notepad document, close the Threat Details screen, then click Start cleanup Click Exit to close the program If no threats were found, please confirm that result. STEP 04 Please download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit Double-click to run it. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer. Press the Scan button. It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply. The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). If you've, run the tool before you need to place a check mark here. Please attach the Additions.txt log to your reply as well. nobody_loves_me Posted February 26, 2017 Author ID:1104721 Share Posted February 26, 2017 Hey @AdvancedSetup ! Thanks for the response. I've done all of the above steps and attached the Necessary Files. I had some issues copying the files into this post as code so have had to attach, maybe a character limit? But they're attached. STEP 1 Attached STEP 2 Attached STEP 3 Attached - I had some issues with this one. After scanning, then clicking start cleanup, it states "New threats were found on your computer during cleanup. To complete cleanup, exit Sophos Virus Removal Tool and start a new scan". Which I did and it does the exact same. It produced me a new log file for this too, which I've also attached and put a 2 next to it. STEP 4 Attached Cheers! Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted February 27, 2017 Root Admin ID:1104763 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Looks pretty good overall. How is the computer running now? If you're still seeing the BitsAdmin console then please take a look at following the other article I linked, or sign up there and post your question with a link to the one in question if needed. Does not appear to be from an infection.
