Using free version on winxp 2TB-HDD with multipartitions.

Deepscan incl. rootkit now running since 11 hrs. is this ok? Or maybe scan was slowed down since i was working on pc.
Scan is in its last heuristic section and telling  300 000 elements scanned. Thanks a lot

@3dreal

Schau mal in das folgende, verlinkte Thema und dort insbesondere den 6. Beitrag von bdubrow. Dein Problem ist bekannt und wohl noch nicht gelöst.

MBAM 3.0.6 won't finish scan

Bis das Problem gelöst ist, lies meinen Vorschlag in diesem Thema:

mb3-heuristics-analysis-scanning-non-stop-3-4-5-hours-or-more

Giving the gist of my German reply in English:

One link to a thread concerning the same issue and a second link with my proposal for persons affected to avoid the issue till it's actually solved by MB.

Yes a custom scan can take many hours depending on the amount of files it has to scan and the type of files as well.  If you are scanning within archives that too will increase the time it will take to scan your 2TB Hard drive.  How full was the drive, how much free space?

No, this is far from being "normal".

Firstly, MBAM scans only for certain extensions, so should be faster than an antivirus.

And my antivirus (Trend Micro) scans the same size HDD in less than 40 minutes.

The issue described by 3dreal is a freezing of the scan screen,  not of whole MB3. That is indicated by bdubrow's reply in the first thread I Iinked in my previous answer.

Here once again that reply::

We have confirmed there is an issue where the scan appears to never complete while in Heuristics phase.

When it's stuck like this, if you see "Checking for Updates" in the "Currently Scanning" field below progress bar, then the scan HAS actually competed successfully.  So this is a defect with the user interface not updating correctly.

If you close Malwarebytes 3.0 and then re-open, you should the see your scan summary

But the effect of the issue is rather similar like a complete freezing of MB3.

Sorry, me reply is an only a bit more detailed version of Telos reply. He posted his reply, while I was writing my reply,
