Malwarebytes fails to remove malware

Recommended Posts

A couple of days ago Malwarebytes routinely scanned and identified 3 Pups:  Trotux, MySites123.ShrtCln and IStartPageing.ChrPRST.  When I clicked on the button to remove these selected items the removal failed.  I am a bit concerned since I've had a couple other weird things happen in the interim.  I was not able to sign onto Win 10.  Windows was acting as if the password cache was unreadable.

Help!

Notice this morning that the location of the malware that was not removed was my Mozilla Firefox profile.  On a hunch I simply went in to Firefox and refreshed the browser.  (Look under Help, Troubleshooting).  Ran MalwareBytes and it found no malware entries.  So I believe the problem is solved... for the moment.
