So, here's the fun stuff. Just got this second laptop yesterday, and downloaded what I thought was a safe copy of a program from CNET. Turns out it wasn't, and now I'm getting all sorts of fake alerts and Malwarebytes won't install on it. It was also putting up notifications in different system windows, like the network settings, saying stuff like "Some settings are managed by your organization." Don't have an organization. I found a way to sneak RKill onto it. That resolved some proxy issues, but now I need to figure out what's left. There was a file folder called "Dunham", also it installed Online.io, AnonymizerGadget, and some S5 file (can't remember the full file name) that a quick search revealed was also malware. I'm also trying to do a factory reset, but it won't allow me to even begin the process. I need a drink...
