It's your thread Battlefists but, if you do not mine, let's see if MB staff or other members can solve this problem...we paid for their product and deserve a FULLY operational software.  Again, I find it hard to believe that we are the only 2 persons that are having this problem with Web Protection.  As Stang777 posted, he/she did not know if Web Protection was working if not for the link provided by Porthos and you starting this thread.

As dcollins now has 2 log files to examine, they should be able to find the commonality between our 2 installs and find the culprit as what is causing our Web Protection to be inoperable.  Otherwise, I will just go back to v3.0.5 as it is working in that release.  Won't have too much confidence in v3.0.6's other modules (Anti-Exploit and Ransomware) protecting my system since Web Protection is not doing what it is intended to do.

Thanks,

Robert

Entered the 3 commands and still not working.  Why is the service not installed?  I will wait till tomorrow and see if it fixes itself as it did with Battelfists or I will just install v3.0.5 and HOPE that it will be fixed in the next release.  Disappointed still.

dcollins, are you people still on this problem or am I to assume that you cannot isolate and solve the problem?  If so, I will just install v3.0.5. How do I disable MB like in v2 to not check for newer versions (Settings > Update Settings and disable Check for program updates when checking for database updates) ?

Installed v3.0.5 and there was a Notification that a newer version is available.  Updated through the GUI and ran the 3 commands in Admin Prompt and rebooted.  Web Protection still does not block any site(s).  The log file is different than the previous one.

Did a clean install of Windows.  No Updates and nothing else installed.  Install MB 3.0.6 and STILL Web Protection does not work.  Can't believe it!

Went to the IP address you posted and I get the block notification.  However, when I go to iptest.malewarebytes.org I get the same Server not found.

What next????

@Robertiy and @nov1 can you please post the logs I asked for earlier? Here's the instructions again so it's easier to find

  1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool from here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-recovery-scan-tool/ and save it to your desktop.
Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system.
**After you click the Download Now 64-bit, or the Download Now 32-bit, another page will open — DO NOT CLICK ANY ADDITIONAL 'download now' buttons, just wait and look toward the bottom of your browser for the option to Run or Save. Click Save.
  2. Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to the disclaimer.
Note: If you are prompted by Windows SmartScreen, click More info followed by Run anyway.
  3. Click the Scan button.
  4. When the scan has finished, it will save 2 logs  in the same directory the tool was run from.  Please attach the following logs:
    Addition.txt
    FRST.txt

Everything is working fine for me now. It was all an F-Secure issue.   I have F-Secure settings, Security settings, Virus protection, Exclude files from the scan, Objects, C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware. DeepGuard is now in default settings.

Hey everyone, just getting caught up on the responses here. There's been quite a few more FRST and Addition logs posted, so I'm going to start digging through those.

In response to the "Is my website protection working", it's very hard to say at this time. My assumption, based off the information we've gathered so far, is that yes it's working based off the fact that you cannot access the websites (The DNS error). However I can't be certain, so I'd advise some extra caution until we figure out some more details. Thanks for your patience in this matter, I understand it's frustrating to have something not working when it was before.

OK.  Let's see MB solve this in a TIMELY manner...

...all by yourself.  Isn't that what we $ for?

I am done posting about this problem.  Waiting, better word would be, HOPING, that the next (3.1) or whatever will address this and other deficiencies with v3.0.6.

Until then ,

Robert
