Dear Malwarebytes team,

My name is Michael and I have been using MWB for a little over a year. I've worked in IT for many years, and I've always had a favorite program for the certain things that I do. In the past when it came to virus protection, I never really considered your program - that was until I began working for a company that deals with your product exclusively. Ever since then, I have written nothing but accolades about it and have recommended it to everyone I do business with and for, because of it's lightweight performance and brutal capability. I've used literally every product that's marketable and free, and not even the previous product that I used can contest with how much I've grown to like it.

However, given your most recent update to the program, and the way that you handled the previous forum that dealt with this very same topic, I felt it was necessary to reopen the discussion since I do not accept the answers that were listed on the previous post. Do you want to know why? Because, I've found a solution that doesn't require a reboot.

1) Make sure you grab your license, you'll need that at the end.
2) Open services.msc and make sure you stop the Malwarebytes service.
3) Uninstall Malwarebytes.
4) Download the installer, https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/thankyou/
5) Install the program
6) Make sure you check the part that says overwrite the old installation
7) Run the program
8) Click on activate license after you put it back in

The service will automatically start running again. It may have an issue where it says all of the protection is disabled at first, but if you go to the settings pane just click Web Protection and it will say "Starting..." like it did before, switch to the dashboard and it will be on. I think it's an issue where the GUI isn't showing that it's on, but I can assure you that it is indeed running again when you switch back and forth.

Hope this helps!
- MC
