Hi,

I installed Malwarebytes on my Surface 3 computer then noticed my torrent had slowed to a crawl, and a bunch of ip addresses being blocked and so I uninstalled it. However that did not solve the issue. I tried to reinstall it turn off all the settings etc, to no avail. I've uninstalled it, deleted all registry mentions of Malwarebytes/mbam.

I have tried:

  • A NetShell int ip reset which seemed to work, then didn't. (Plus the complicated bit of diving into the registry to allow file 26 as seen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3DpeeXLSDM&index=2&list=WL)
  • To reset the host files, didn't work.
  • To uninstall/reinstall uTorrent without saving any settings, which didn't work
  • Deleting all settings for the firewall, restarting the computer and reinstalling uTorrent. Didn't work

uTorrent gives the following error  "Error opening Windows firewall: 0x80070005 Access is denied."

I also unable to access some websites namely forum.utorrent.com on MS Edge, but I am able to do so on Chrome.

Ordinarily I would have just gone to a previous restore point until I found out that Windows 10 doesn't automatically turn it on. Woah.

I'm grasping at straws. Any help would be welcome.

(PS Not sure if i was unable to post due to the browser i was using. However I posted the logs above in the initial post)

Hello @Twre

Sorry to hear you're having issues with the program or programs after removal. Probably the easiest thing to do is a System Restore to before this happened.

Please review the recovery and repair options here and chose a day or time before you first installed Malwarebytes
