@ Any Name Will Do

In a pm with one of the experts, G46V5.exe is part of the install process, disconnect from the internet after your download of 1.39 -- and ONLY THEN, temporarily disable OA Please post back with your results... regards.

Hello, I did a system reinstall using an image and tried again. This time the file had a slightly different name. I put Online Armor in learning mode so it didn't interfere with it. After a second reboot the file disappeared. Is that to be expected?

Not sure what you meant by worked. Online Armor didn't block anything after the reboot caused by installing 1.39. Malwarebytes is set as trusted and Online Armor was in Learning Mode during the install process. Having a file disappear seems a little odd. The file was named is-bqdlr.exe. Can you confirm that is a legitimat file name.

Thanks,

Both Online Armor and Malwarebytes seem to be working OK. G46V5.exe did not reappear with this installation, rather is-bqdlr.exe. Is this a random file name created during the installation process?

Everything between "is-" and ".exe" are completely random. The file is created specifically for the installation, and removed by the installer process once it's complete (you'll also see a similar file when uninstalling).

These are created by any program that used Inno Setup to create it's installer.

Thanks for the explanation - is C:\windows the expected place for these files to appear?
