Earlier today I accidentally clicked on a spam email in an attempt to mark it as spam (it was one of those "Thank you X company has a prize for you") even though I didn't click any links I still to check a few things for malware.I noticed that I had two or three cookies from sites that I never visited one of them I can recall being gstatic.com, I found out when searching about it that it was adware with a risk of downloading malware and I began to search more and started a kaspersky scan the scan turned up with nothing but I managed to find a program named Wild Tangent (which is a gaming app and recieved some claims of minor privacy invasion) and I deleted it.

After changing the cookies settings on chrome the cookies stopped and I played battlefield for a bit, now it has been 3 hours ever since this happened and the cookies are returning. All of them have odd names and are channel IDs.

They usually are added whenever I visit a new site, it always starts with gstatic.com .Some of these are sites which I'm not bothered by such as youtube.com or google.com but there are others such as ggpht.com, doubleclick.net and ytimg.com once again all of which are channel IDs.Kaspersky is also blocking several attempts to collect data, and unknown web beacon earlier in the morning and now a web beacon from something called marketo and 3 ads, two are from bing and one from Facebook Custom Audiences.

I tried a few methods in removing the possible adware but I couldn't find anything else suspicious other than what I listed above. If my PC does have malware or PUPs then I'm assuming that it's gstatic .

Can anoyone help me with this?

Hi Thetrollingoki :)

These websites are used for what we call "Web Analytics", and these services are provided by a lot of platforms. Pretty much every websites uses them in a way or other, so these websites aren't malicious per say, but they can be considered a "privacy" issue if you don't want your browsing information to be accessed by third-party companies. Some of these connections are also from ad platforms (used to display ads on the websites you visit).
