Constant issues with real time protection failing to work so I tried to uninstall and reinstall per the instructions here elsewhere. I couldn't uncheck "self-protection" so tried to uninstall MB using Mbam Clean anyway. Have run Clean probably 10 times now, at first without disabling MS Defender, then with it disabled, multiple times consecutively without attempting a reinstall of MBam. Still cannot turn off MB self protection or reinstall MB without getting a bunch of error messages, if I ignore them and proceed with the incomplete reinstallation all the original bugs are still there. Logs attached.

Hello @jtvt and :welcome:

Your post and logs suggest remedial actions, that are not permitted in this sub-forum, will be required to resolve the system's install issue.

I recommend following the advice from the topic: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers and have one of the experts assist you with your issue.

If, as recommended, you do open a topic in Malware Removal Help, please make reference to this thread.

If you would like to get off to a very fast start, the experts would appreciate it if you would also attach (not compress/copy/paste) both the FRST.txt and the Addition.txt output diagnostic reports from only Log Set 1 into your new topic.  Please do not alter any pre-configured FRST categories as the default settings are well suited for resolution actions.

Thank you.

Giving Avast a shot, ran the full boot scan and full running scan, came back clean. I'm less certain this is an issue with my PC than just with MBam now, every other program seems to be functioning normally. No responses to my other thread yet in any case, just PMed Advanced Setup, maybe he or another mod can confirm or deny.

@jtvt I wouldn't recommend using the clean uninstall tool until AFTER letting v3 uninstall itself.

I had an experience similar to yours in that I could not uncheck self-protection. What I then did was reinstall 1269 over the existing MBAM remnants. After doing that MBAM ran and I accepted the updates, and then went into settings and unchecked self-protection. After a 5-10 second delay it turned off. Next, I fully exited MBAM and uninstalled it via Control Panel's add/remove programs feature. After a reboot, I used the clean tool 2x and then 2x times again in Safe Mode. Finally, I ran MB-Check utility and all seemed clean.

If you have Revo onboard your machine, I would use it to monitor the install and leave it in monitor mode until you have updated and closed MBAM. Doing so will permit you the additional option of a custom uninstall via Revo (not absolutely necessary, but a nice tool to have).
