MBAM 3.0.6 ~ Will not check for auto updates

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I'm new here and wanted to vent my frustration with automatic updates not working as per screenshot. Every day I boot my PC and see the red triangular exclamation mark over the taskbar icon Untitled.png.3912de2cb8279b58bad97cb76fabc74a.png so I have to open MBAM and manually download for updates. Why do have to do this?

I have tried googling and searched this forum for a hopeful solution and have seen others with this same issue going back to last November. For me this happened in MBAM 3.0.5 and then upgraded to 3.0.6 and the problem remains.

Could someone kindly help me with this. Thank you.

Regards

Hi Aura, thanks for that but previously I had tried this and it had the same effect. Although this only happened in the previous version (MBAM 3.0.5) so i will give it another try with the latest release and I'll get back to you.

BTW, so why is there an option to have it set to update daily and yet it continues to get this error?

cheers

Same here.  Mine (MBAM 3.0.6) is set to auto update every hour and I get the red triangle exclamation mark every day for the updates being out of date.  I have to open the program and manually update.  It would be great if you guys would fix some of these bugs that we are having with Malwarebytes 3.0.

It could be a few seconds, or 5 minutes, or half hour. No time is really measured it just seems to sit there always showing the red triangle exclamation mark roughly on a daily basis and after my system is booted. It could be booted from sleep or a cold boot. If it's booted or rebooted on within the same day the bug doesn't appear only after a guesstimated 24 hours it will show itself.

No, but I was using comodo antivirus for a few years up until a few weeks back when I changed to Panda.

Recently I did a compete custom system scan with both MBAM and Panda and both found absolutely nothing, and thought my system was clean. I had MBAM set to scan with all options ticked and all drives ticked.

Thanks all the same but this thread is now closed.

I'm sorry as I seriously don't have the time nor patience to go through and give that mass amount of information that mostly appears highly daunting to me.

For a very small problem there must be a better way for gods sake! If I knew the kind of grief this would bring I would not of bothered signing up to this forum. It's not worth my time and rather spend it on better things in life as this is a minor first world problem. I'm not mad, just disappointed with a good opportunity for change.

I had the exact same problem after updating to newest version of 3. I have been waiting for version 3 to get cleaned up after seeing all the post here and the trouble that version 3 has made for a lot of people. Not wanting to be a Beta tester with my system or security software, I wanted until now to update to 3. I ended up removing version 3 and going back to version 2 to fix the update problem.

reMark and I are not the first with this problem as there are other post on this forum about this same problem. All that gets done is being told to go back to version 2. I think this company has made a major mistake in releasing version 3 to the general public as it is easy to see from this forum that the software is not ready for general use. To me it looks like far more beta testing is needed and I am not paid to be a beta tester. I am sticking with version 2 for as long as it has supported updates.

Thanks Jolt for your input.

I hope this gets resolved real soon. I strongly believe that having too many glitches in a security product is not at all a good thing.

Aura, where can I find Malwarebytes 2.2.1.1043 for download? Also I have the Premium edition with lifetime license.. is it easy to go back and have the license merged as well?

The installer for Malwarebytes 2.2.1.1043 can be found in the installation FAQ article below.

https://support.malwarebytes.com/customer/portal/articles/1835314?b_id=6438

Your licence will work on both Malwarebytes 2.x and 3.0, so there's no problem. Just make sure to deactivate your licence in Malwarebytes 3.0 before uninstalling it, so you don't run into activation issues after installing 2.2.1.1043.
