Real Time protection issues

Recommended Posts

This started for me yesterday, immediately upgrading to 3.0.6 Premium.
I tried all the tweaks mentioned and nothing worked until I uninstalled MWB, my AV and reinstalled MWB then AV. Worked for roughly 24 hrs.

I am not sophisticated enough to start making logs so will sit tight, wait for smarter folks to fix it and hope I didn't waste my money.

Sorry, I didn't get back here quick enough to "edit" so you get this...

Was reading through the thread titled "Too many 3.0.6 issues - uninstall and I am done..."
and just my go back a version as well. So, is uninstall straight forward in W8.1 remove programs or are special steps/tools needed?

Started for me last week day after upgrading - have since uninstalled MB and reinstalled 4 times - each time I turn off my AV firewall and protection for an hour - this time have turned off AV indefinitely - will see how long program works properly this time am running Windows 10 on this computer - other computer running Windows XP has no problems with new MB

HI @T4Tim, sorry to hear about the frustration you are experiencing.

If you are still having issues after completing the steps outlined here: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/195576-real-time-protection-layer-turning-off-try-this/ and are not interested in getting support, please uninstall Malwarebytes 3.0 using the standard method via Control Panel; no special tools needed.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,
Cecile

Our developers are actively working on a fix for the real-time protection layer being off. But an uninstall and reinstall typically solves it if you were unable to activate web protection with the first option.

If you would like our team to delve deeper into what specifically was your Malwarebytes v 3.0.6 issue, please follow steps 6-8 here: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/190532-having-problems-using-malwarebytes-please-follow-these-steps/ and attach the logs.

Thanks,
Cecile

EDIT: My apologies, I missed that you are now using v2.2.1. Nevermind on the the logs for Malwarebytes 3.0 above

Thanks again for your speedy reply.
I installed 3.0 and experienced the "turn off" sometimes immediately on start up, sometimes after a piece of time. I could rely on it shutting off at some point. Followed all the "what to do next" advice and did a Re & Re to no avail.

Don't get me wrong here, I am not unhappy as MB has served me well over many years and I know you will get it right. Eventually.

For now, I will just sit tight with the revert to 2.2 and keep an eye on this forum.

Hello @T4Tim

We just released the new MB 3.0.6 CU4 build that has fixed issues around the Real Time Protection getting enabled/disabled correctly.

Please refer to the following forum post for details and to get the Build download location.

Give it a go and let us know how things turn out.

Thank you,
