I just tried the steps above of turning on the "Enable self-protection module early start"  and disabling the self-protection module. Rebooted both times. No difference. The Exploit Protection and Ransomware settings never "set." They both read "Starting..." and then, when I close the Malwarebytes window and reopen it, both are set to Off. I just bought this product yesterday because I'm concerned I may have opened a phishing email. 

HELP!

Can you try the steps below please @PamO

  1. Under Settings -> Protection, turn on "Enable early startup for self-protection module". Then reboot and see if your protection module starts up
  2. If that doesn't work, under Settings -> Protection, turn off the option for "Enable self-protection module". Then reboot and see if your protection module starts up
