Extremely slow boot startup

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm using a registered paid version of Malwarebytes with the most recent update version.3.0.6.1469, I'm using win7 pro on a high end computer.

Since last update on wednesday, my computer has taken forever to boot as soon malwarebytes is loading in the icon tray, I have to wait at least 10 minutes after that to be able to do anything, any operation freeze. I cannot even do ctrl-alt-delete as I get the following error message after 3-4 minutes waiting:

the logon process was unable to display security and logon options when ctrl-alt-del was pressed. If the operating system does not respond press ESC or restart the computer by using the power switch.

At first I thought my SSD was fried since Ive been using it massively for the past 3 years so i bought a new one and did a fresh win7 pro installationg. And everything was running smooth until I reinstalled Malwarebytes. It started having exactly the same problem. So I uninstalled mwb and now the computer is running fine. I'm also using kaspersky total security.

Is this something that other user experience or is it me only... I'm starting to paranoid that my bios or router are hijacked with some nasty rootkits but I have no way to know. Can someone please help me with this as I would really like to have it on my system.

Thanks

Hello and Welcome...

It sounds like you may want to add mutual exceptions into your Kaspersky for Malwarebytes and vice versa...

Below are the files that need to be excluded.  See it that helps.

I would like you to add these files to your Anti-Virus exclusions list

 C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\assistant.exe
 C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
 C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MbamPt.exe
 C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMService.exe
 C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbamtray.exe
 C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMWsc.exe

Thanks for that tip. I've just added these in both application and will update results.
