Hello all, after a really long time trying to figure out why FSX SE was not able to start with MFC80.dll error along with FSlab A320X i solved this issue by uninstall malwarebytes USING MALWAREBYTES CLEANING TOOL THEN RESTARTING PC AND FINALLY FINALLY FSX SE was able to start.

I have excluded all fsx and fslab a320 folders but fsx was unable to start. Each time i have to uninstall malwarebytes using control panel and then MALWAREBYTES CLEANING TOOL AND RESTART PC then Fsx starts normally. Malwarebytes team please advise on solving this problem and try to coordinate with fslab team to find this strange interference.thanks.

Is FSXE SE, Flight Simulator: Steam Edition or is it some other program?

Hello Devin, it Flight simuloator x steam edition with fslab spot light installed http://www.flightsimlabs.com/index.php/spotlights-2/, i have posted the issue on fslab forum and the attached pictures contains the converstion text with Fslab team, they said that they tried to contact you but did not recieved a reply:

please coordinate with fslab team because malwarebytes interfere with their code and the result malwarebytes should be uninstalled completely with clean tool and fsx se start normally. thanks

please advice to solve this problem or a walk around, i have tried exclusions of all files but same result.

Can you follow the instructions below to gather some detailed logs on this issue? THanks!

  1. Open Malwarebytes
  2. Go to Settings -> Applications
  3. Turn on the option for Event Log Data
  4. Attempt to run the Flight Simulator
  5. Verify the error happens
  6. Zip up the folder C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\logs by right clicking the folder and choosing Send To -> Compressed (Zipped) folder. This should create a zip file on your desktop
Note: The ProgramData folder may be hidden. You may need to turn on showing hidden folders or type the path manually

Please upload the zip file in your response. Thanks!

Unfortunately the only thing I was able to test with is the demo version from Microsoft, which isn't the same as the steam edition and also doesn't get blocked. However after looking over the logs, I see another steam folder we may want to exclude. Can you try excluding the following folder:

C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\

Hi, the problem is not fsx se but the problem arise when fslab spot light is installed. C++ redistributable 2005  files are blocked by malwarbytes. When uninstalling fslab spot light malwarbytes unblocks C++ files and fsx se starts normally. When removing malwarebytes or fs spot light fsx se runs normally mfc80.dll and mpvc80.dll are not missing ( removed by malwarebytes!) .

If it's still not working, it can't hurt to exclude those as well. I'm still trying to reproduce this issue internally to narrow down the direct cause, but it's hard without having the exact software.

not working. please note that mfc80 and msvcp80 are both exist in win folder as per attached pictures!!

No it doesn't show that it's blocking unfortunately. Can you zip up the following folders and attach them in a reply? You can put all four folders in a zip file by holding Ctrl while you click each folder, then right click one of the folders and choose Send to -> Compressed (Zipped) folder. This should create a zip file on your desktop that you can send as an attachment.

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService

  • AeDetections
  • ArwDetections
  • MwacDetections
  • RtpDetections

Note that the ProgramData folder may be hidden, so you'll need to turn on the ability to view hidden files or type the folder path in manually.
