Angelus Posted January 27, 2017 ID:1096470 Share Posted January 27, 2017 3.0.5.1299 has apparently been release to the automatic update server So I assume most of the bugs have been resolved congratulations I could just update to 3.0.6 but I'll wait till it hits the update server as well has the compatibility with MS Security essentials been resolved? Anyway Congrats on a seemingly stable update
Aura Posted January 27, 2017 ID:1096491 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Hi Angelus Since Malwarebytes 3.0.6 is more stable than 3.0.5, I suggest you to uninstall 3.0.5 and install 3.0.6 as soon as possible as it contains more improvements and fixes. Also, which compabitility issue are you referring to?
Angelus Posted January 27, 2017 Author ID:1096497 Share Posted January 27, 2017 specifically Microsoft Security Essentials running alongside Malwarebytes 3.0 might cause system lockdowns under Windows 7 due to a buggy Microsoft update.
Aura Posted January 27, 2017 ID:1096499 Share Posted January 27, 2017 I'm pretty sure this has been fixed, since it's most likely related to this: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/191010-microsoft-pulls-kb-3197868-windows-7-security-rollup/
Angelus Posted January 27, 2017 Author ID:1096526 Share Posted January 27, 2017 I updated to 3.06 per your suggestion and the only thing I see that's troublesome is the fact that it uses 100% CPU during scan I read that this was only during a manual scan so I tested that by setting up a scheduled scan and seeing what it did during a scheduled scan but the CPU usage was still 100% during the scheduled scan wish there was still an option like there was in 2x to lower CPU usage
Aura Posted January 27, 2017 ID:1096533 Share Posted January 27, 2017 If you minimize the Malwarebytes window during the scan, it should take less resources. Can you try it?
Angelus Posted January 27, 2017 Author ID:1096551 Share Posted January 27, 2017 it wasen't open so to speak it was a scheduled scan,,, so it was running in the background as process
Angelus Posted January 27, 2017 Author ID:1096563 Share Posted January 27, 2017 just tried again as per your request the manual scan that was minimized when it got to the scan memory part it spiked up to 100% and stayed there also tried it as a scheduled scan which was not open at all same result this is windows 7 if it matters
Angelus Posted January 27, 2017 Author ID:1096585 Share Posted January 27, 2017 also just noticed during 4pm scheduled scan I was running Pandora and the audio got choppy due to CPU being at 100%
Aura Posted January 27, 2017 ID:1096615 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Did you install 3.0.6 over 3.0.5, or did you uninstall 3.0.5 first and then proceeded to install 3.0.6?
Angelus Posted January 28, 2017 Author ID:1096662 Share Posted January 28, 2017 uninstalled 3.0.5 first and then proceeded to install 3.0.
Aura Posted January 28, 2017 ID:1096689 Share Posted January 28, 2017 What other security software do you have installed if any: Antivirus, Firewall, Antimalware (another one maybe), Anti-Executable, etc.?

Aura Posted January 28, 2017 ID:1096699 Share Posted January 28, 2017 Which process takes the most CPU/RAM during the scan? MBAMService.exe? Right now, I'm running a simple threat scan and that process is using around 75% of my CPU.
Angelus Posted January 28, 2017 Author ID:1096714 Share Posted January 28, 2017 MBAMService.exe is correct once it hits the scan memory it spikes to 100%
