I stupidly downloaded and installed an mp3 player on my Windows 10 lenovo ThinkPad. Now every time I begin to type in the address window in Chrome, Malwarebytes pops up to tell me it's blocked a malicious website (sug.seachalgo.com). However, when I run a complete Malwarebytes scan with the latest update, it doesn't find anything related to this. How can Malwarebytes recognize and block a malicious website, but not find anything related to it in a scan? I have no idea how to deal with this. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and :welcome:

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button. button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.

  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Norton 360 says it's malicious, and removes it before I can install it. I get really nervous when I have to disable virus protection to install an unknown/untrusted piece of software. I disabled the malware in Chrome settings, and it doesn't appear to be interfering with my other browsers.
