Hello everybody.

ive been just starting to use virtualbox to test malware behaviour. and i use the malwarebytes free trial to clean up anything i might still have on the virtual machine. (i dont know why i care i guess its just my ocd) but i have just opened malwarebytes for the third time and for some reason i have the full premium instead of the trial. i have never bought it so i don't really feel i should keep it. is this a bug? how can i reset it back to the trial version?

Hi Guric :)

Did you ever install Malwarebytes on that VM? Also, the Malwarebytes Trial gives you Malwarebytes Premium for 14 days, after which it reverts back to the Free version.

yes i did. the premium version is installed on the vm. But i am 100% certain it is the premium, not the premium trial. there is no "upgrade" button and it says Premium at the top left next to the logo

Did you ever have a Premium version of Malwarebytes installed on this VM? If so, the licence information might have been left behind during the uninstall process, and so when Malwarebytes 3.0 was installed, it detected them and used them to activate itself. You can go back to the free version by clicking on "My Account" in the top-right corner, followed by "Deactivate Licence" in the bottom-right corner.

No I have never bought Malwarebytes premium. Strange. I will just deactivate it then. Thank you
