Can I run a threat scan in the background?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I monitor my processor activity and I notice that when I run a threat scan Malwarebytes uses almost all available power and pushes the processors to almost 100%. As a result the processors get hotter than I would like. I would prefer to run the scans while I continue to work in other software without worrying that my processors might be over heated. So is there a way to run the scans in the background on something less than full power?

Regards

Leon

If you minimize/close the main MB3 window, it should use less system CPU power and allow other programs to take more priority.

No problem! This is by design, when a user runs a scan with the MBAM UI open, we want the scan to finish faster as they are most likely watching the system and waiting for results. When it's minimized, we reduce the usage so the user can perform their normal activities and not be inhibited
