How long should first scan take?

Recommended Posts

Hello and Welcome to Malwarebytes.

Scan time vary from computer to computer depending on the number of files on your computer as well what type of scan you are performing. A Threat Scan should take anywhere from 5~30 minutes depending on your computer specs.

That being said if your stuck on updating, you may try rebooting your computer a couple of times and see if you can get MBAM updated.  If you still can not get it to update provide the logs below for review.

We would need more info on the system....

Please read the following and in your next reply ATTACH the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs
(the three files should be CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt)

Thank You,

Firefox

Hi, Thank you'all so much!  As it was,  I had already uninstalled, so then I did some re-starts, downloaded again and all went so nicely (including the detection of 267 pups which I guess we're not dachsunds) that I then set up the premium version for both my main laptops.  So I begin the New Year NOT stymied after all (this time? !).  So again,  thank you Firefox and Mrtee :'). May many joyouse New Years befall ye and yours ....!
