Full scan is going on for more than 24 hours now!

I am running a FULL scan and it's now going on for more than 24 hours!

I have a huge Hard Drive.

 

So, to help me in the future, is there any way for me to skip all the .jpgs, gifts, mp3, image/videos/documents that usually don't have virus?

Also txt files, or whatever files that can't be executed.

wow that doesn't seem right for a scan to be taking that long. Does it look like it's stuck on the same file, by any chance?  On the scan page, is it in the "Scan File System" phase? If so, do you see different files being shown in the "Currently Scanning" field? Also, are you running 3.0.4 or 3.0.5?

Yeah it's going thru over 1 million files.

I have NEVER ran a full custom on any system. The types and locations of malware that MB  targets will be taken care of with the regular scan.

As mentioned Full scans are really not needed, a threat scan all locations were malware likes to hide.

Full scans can take a very long time as you have noticed.

There is no way currently to skip any type of files...

Hey Devs, is there anyway you can update the software to allow an option to skip files like pictures, videos, texts, etc that usually don't have malware?

Good morning @DragonFireDon! A full scan like you're running is designed to do exactly what you asked it, scan every thing on your computer. Excluding specific file types can be extremely dangerous as new infections come out all the time, and these infections can use things like videos, pictures, or text documents to load malicious code onto your computer.

As others have mentioned, the majority of time, running a threat scan is going to the best solution and keep you safe
