Is there a tweak..setting.. switch..knob...something to turn off pop-ups!!?

Thank you so much for reaching out. Please try turning off the Notifications switch:

Settings>>Application>>Notifications

We are also working on a soon to be released update that will address a repetitive "Protection Layer Turned off" notification that comes up misleadingly.

In addition to the above info, please be aware that certain notifications cannot be disabled, even when that setting is turned off.  This is primarily because we want to always inform the user when they are not fully protected should malware or a hacker somehow change the notification settings.  This was the same in Anti-Malware 2.x.
